A small college town in Southern Illinois, Carbondale is known for its lovely countryside. Most everything worth doing in Carbondale is located on or near Main Street, including the town's single gay bar. There aren't many hotels in the downtown area, and the best places to stay are the surrounding countryside's charming B&B's, so make sure to call a cab.
